NICU/CICU Doula Support

Providing education and support to families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and NICU/CICU journey. 

We meet for a prenatal meeting before your due date (or scheduled birth) to get to know you and talk about what is important to you and your partner/family, what you're excited, nervous, and fearful about, options you have and comfort measures that may help you, and how you’re wanting my support after baby(ies) are here and then put it all together to see how we as a team can help make it happen! If we connect after the baby is already born, then we will still discuss your goals and needs at the beginning of care. I am also available to you via call or text throughout the entire process. 

After you have your baby, I provide support to you and your family at your home and the NICU/CICU. Examples of ways I can support you and your partner/family include:

  • processing your pregnancy, birth, and NICU/CICU stay

  • helping you understand your baby’s diagnosis and status

  • helping you understand and navigate hospital terminology and decisions

  • holding space for emotional support

  • spending time with your baby when you can’t be at the hospital with them - reading to them, holding them, kangaroo care, updating you, etc

  • light housework and meal prep

  • celebrating milestones and memory making for special moments

  • breastfeeding/pumping/feeding support

  • helping keep extended family updated

  • postpartum healing tips

  • newborn/baby help when you bring them home

  • bereavement support
